William George Cole, Susan and Ethel Mary, Leusdon

William George Cole is shown in image DRA 3571. The inscription on his grave in Leusdon churchyard reads: ‘In loving memory of William George Cole who died 3rd Sept. 1932, aged 76. “Ripening with a wondrous power.” Also of his beloved wife Susan who died 29th March 1948, aged 91.’ The remaining lines of the inscription are partly obscured by earth that had built up against the headstone by April 2025 but include: ‘… known the glory there/…. doth yet employ…’ At the foot of the grave plot is a memorial stone to one of his two daughters, Ethel Mary.
