Jetty Marsh Lock, Stover Canal, 2022
The Stover canal linked with the tidal Whitelake Channel at Jetty Marsh Lock and went onwards to the River Teign. A large basin was built to hold the waiting canal barges. When the tide was at right, they could pass through the sea lock. In 1824, it was rebuilt in granite and bears a plaque to commemorate this. This shows the lock in October 2022. We acknowledge the details provided by the Inland Waterways Association and the Stover Canal Trust in writing this.
