This is part of a series of photographs relating to the building of the Bulliver Bridge at Totnes. When Littlehempston railway station was built, it was on the opposite side of the River Dart from Totnes, and it was felt necessary to build a bridge to give access to Totnesians. The bridge was built in 1993, and was named Bulliver after the locomotive of the same name which had so often travelled on that section of the railway.
