This shows page 1 of the order of service for the commemoration of Simon's life, held at Ashprington church on 19 October 2024. Leading the service, Laurence Green said: "The adjectives Simon's friends used to describe him were: 'chivalrous', 'unique', 'a true innocent', and 'a great raconteur'. I will add that he was a really loyal friend. Simon described people sitting outside the pub all day as 'gongoozlers', a Lincolnshire word for people who stand around canal lock gates and never offer to help open or close them."
