Bailey Bridge: ramp on east bank
The ramp climbs from what is now (March 2024) at road level to the point at which the Bailey bridge joined the east bank of the River Dart. The bridge was built in two sections, meeting at and being supported by a substantial central pier. The processes of planning and aspects of construction can be seen in the March 1944 images of the site and the bridge.
