This is part of a collection relating to a project of the U3A Totnes Photography Group in May 2023. The project, 'Totnes Old and New' was to take an old photo from the Totnes Image Bank and take a new photo of the present view as near as possible from the same viewpoint. The original photo above is a view looking up Fore Street, Totnes; it is undated, but was clearly taken in the days when horse drawn transport was still in use, although it also includes one motor vehicle. Apart from the transport and costumes and shop facades, and the presence of a few more motor vehicles, little is changed in the 2023 photograph.
