This is part of a collection relating to a project of the U3A Totnes Photography Group in May 2023. The project, 'Totnes Old and New' was to take an old photo from the Totnes Image Bank and take a new photo of the present view as near as possible from the same viewpoint. The original photo above is a view looking at The Eastgate, Totnes, from the High Street next to St Mary's; it is undated, but was clearly taken in the days of horse drawn transport. Apart from the transport and costumes and shop facades, little is changed in the 2023 photograph.
