Cornwood Railway Station c1910. Note - oil standard lamps. This station was built by George Hennett and opened in 1852 and operated by him on behalf of the South Devon Railway until January 1857 when the railway company took over. Until 1864 it was known as "Cornwood Road." In 1893 a signal box was opened at the east end of the station and kept in use until 1963. The station closed for passenger train 2 March 1959.
