Sweaton Farm, Ponsworthy

Sweaton Farmhouse was Grade II listed by English Heritage in 1955. It was described in the listing as 'Farmhouse. C16 or C17, with later additions.' The gravestone of Samuel Chaffe, who farmed at Sweaton in the late 1800s, is shown in image JBN 0006. The indistinct male figure leaning over the gate might be the Mr Caunter who is shown clearly in image DRA 6096. By 2023, Sweaton's farm buildings had become holiday accommodation. *** DRA 3904 PW 023
