Scratton

Daniel Scratton, 1819-1902, JP, Lord of the Manor of Ogwell, also Denbury. Lived at West Ogwell House which he bought from Pierce Taylor in 1869. Mrs Maria Scratton 1817-1902. They employed 40 servants and others. From TT 07.05.1885- Mr D.R. Scratton lately purchased Denbury Manor House and grounds and is having the trees felled which formed the Rookery. From TT 26.10.1895 - Sells 90 felled oaks, 25 Ash and faggot wood. DRA 0983 OG 017
