Maypole Dancers 1908

First maypole dancers in Kingskerswell 1908, believed to be an annual event until 1939. Back - Sam Bradford, Miss Bowden (now Mrs Crocker), Miss Crocker (now Mrs Bradford), Augustus Leek. Centre - Miss Mitchell, Mrs Warman nee Hill, Mabel Lord (now Mrs Budd), Mrs Hill, Miss Manning, M.Lock (now Mary Pickford), Miss Harris of Whilborough, Miss Nicholls, Mrs Hodge Brooks of the Halfway. 2nd row from front - Mrs Pearce, Kate Locck (now Mrs Burne), Renee Dart, Amy Bradford, Dorothy Pearse, Winnie Brmicombe (Mrs Evans). Front - Jessie Mitchell (went to USA), Miss Hodge Brooks, Lucy Freer, Mr Evans, Beattie Vening, Nellie Hill Truman. Notice says:- 'Success to the Maypole Dance". DRA 0932 KK 032
