Wedding of George Ryder and Bessie Jarvis, 1894

James George Ryder and Bessie Lavinia Jarvis married in 1894. George was a mason working on the Sharpham Estate around 1877 while Bessie worked at Tuckenhay Mill. In the 1901 Census, they are recorded as living with George's widowed mother Susan at Tuckenhay, with their five-year-old daughter Lilian. George is listed as a mason still, while both Susan and Bessie are listed as paper mill hands. DRA 0675 TH 0006
