War Memorial, Broadhempston, 1921
Broadhempston War Memorial was dedicated and unveiled in March 1921 with a service in the church. Dedicatory prayers were read by the Rural Dean, Rev W. Aitcheson, vicar of Berry Pomeroy, and the Rev H. Evans M.C. A muffled peal was rung from the bells after the ceremony. The Memorial erected in the churchyard was of Devon granite, a rustic-work cross with two bases fixed on granite blocks with a concrete foundation. William George Field, John Grant and Leonard Palk are commemorated on an inscription on the second base. Possibly General Kelly, front left. DRA 0465 BHM 087
