The Moult c1897
The Moult, between north and south sands, Salcombe, c1897. Built 1764 - later owned by Lord Courtenay. When Froude the historian owned it in 1889, his friend Lord Tennyson convalesced there and wrote 'Crossing the Bar', inspired by his evening departure by sea. DRA 2601 SC 044
