George Derges c1888

George Derges farm labourer at Foxworthy for nearly 40 years, c1888. Lived at Manaton where his wife kept Ivy Cottage on the Green as a guest house. A good & knowledgeable worker although prone to take advantage of his employer on occasion. General farm work plus road making, hedging, trapping and ferreting, gardening. He died 1924.
