Kelly Mine 1907. Micaceous Haematite, very effective corrosion-resistant paint. It was exported to Germany. Right - Mr Johns, father of Mrs Lilian Jones, died from lung disease due to mining. 3L Ernest Squires. Kelly mine finally closed in 1951, the company leaving in debt in lieu of payment left the machinery on site. Thirty years later, 1984, the owner agreed to lease the site to a group of mining enthusiasts. The Kelly Mine Preservation Society is restoring and preserving this time capsule for future generations. DRA 1958 LL 007
