Blacksmiths

The location of this photograph is not certain. The original caption was 'Blacksmiths with horses at Cudlipp's blacksmith shop at Longcombe Cross'. However, Jim Cudlipp says this photograph was taken in London. There were family connections with Thomas Steer, farrier, at Paddington, William Cudlipp having married Florence Marion Steer, from Paddington. Her brother Thomas, and her father (also Thomas) ran a farrier's. The latter seems more likely, i.e. that it is London, on the basis of the cobbled surface, similar to that shown in DRA 0822, which is confirmed as the Steer farriers in London. Thomas Cudlipp trained with the Steer farriers. DRA 1683 BP 008
