Charles George Cudlipp, 1891-1914

Private Charles George (Charlie) Cudlipp is seen here in dress uniform: 8653 1st Bttn Devonshire Regiment.. He died of wounds at Bethune on 4 November 1914, having been shot in the feet at Festubert on 30th October. 4 November 1914. His sister Edith (Edie) kept his letters in a suitcase in Longcombe Cottage until she died. Charles Cudlipp was born on 17 July 1891. His father was William Cudlipp, his mother Florence Marion (nee Steer), living at Longcombe in 1901. Grave Ref. 111.A.46 Bethune Town Cemetery, France. There is a will on the WW1 wills website.
