The Cudlipp family

William Cudlipp, born about 1862 in Mamhead, and his wife Florence Marion (born Steer), born about 1864 in Paddington, London. With them is their son, Thomas William Cudlipp, born in Paignton about 1887. William and Florence married at Berry Pomeroy on 9 December 1883 and, according to the 1911 Census, they had eight children, all of whom were alive at that date. In that Census, the family is recorded at Longcombe Cottage, Berry Pomeroy, with Thomas and three of the other eight children: Edith, Wilfred and Herbert. The original caption to this image read: 'Grandfather & grandmother Cudlipp with son, Uncle Tom. He was farrier sergeant in the Devon Regiment (see 45). Berry Pomeroy.' *** DRA 1619 BP 014
