Bantham Dunes

Bantham dunes, seemingly where overflow from meadow stream ran out in winter flood. See THUR 58. Site of iron age midden on left bank & excavated 1979. Human bones found in this area, probably from shipwreck burial early 1930s. Were given a Christian burial at Thurlestone church. DRA 1394 THUR 011
