Kitley - home of the Bastard family. Estate dates to reign of Henry V111. Remodelled 1710 by Pollexfen Bastard, staircase survives. Remodelled again by G.S.Repton 1820-5 in 'othic Revival' style. Mother Hubbard is said to have been housekeeper - rhyme written by Sarah Martin 1905. DRA 1296 Y 004
