The Barter family at Court Farm or the Avon Inn

William Furneaux and Eliza Ann Barter (born Peatheyjohns) are shown with their five children: Ada (1884 -1966), William Frederick (1886 - 1942), Thomas (1888 - 1968), Joe (1890 - 1965) and Harry (1892 - 1966). A family member has said that they don't think this photograph was taken at Court Farm, where the family was living by the time of the 1911 Census, but around 1901 at the Avon Inn, Avonwick, which had been kept for some years by Mrs Barter's family. In that Census, William F. Barter is recorded there as 'Innkeeper and farmer (employer)'. His brother, Philip Barter (1860 - 1945), is shown with his family in image YA 0005..
