Coldharbour children, 1940s

John Knott, Tryphena Screech and Arthur Fouracre are shown at Coldharbour in the early 1940s. John Knott lived at No. 3; Tryphena Screech at No. 4; Arthur Fouracre at No. 5. In 1949, the Coldharbour cottages and most of the other properties in Bridgetown were put up for auction ‘on instructions from His Grace the Duke of Somerset’. No.5 was recorded as ‘let to Mr F J Fouracre at a yearly rental of £10 from 25th December 1929, Tenant paying Rates.’ The rateable value was recorded in the catalogue as £5.
