Red Cross 1914
Inspection of Totnes Div of the Red Cross at Flete on 03.06.1914. Fifteen minutes was allowed for giving First Aid and setting up a 19-bed field hospital; all equipment, except stretchers was sent from Totnes; the wounded were represented by Boy Scouts. Each detatchment had its own primus stove and biscuit tin kitchen. From TT Nov 1912 - Red Cross Society was formed and Councillor Chapman was the commandant of the Totnes detachment.
