Romany Cinema 1961

Romany Cinema - a Civic Occasion in July 1961. Totnes commemorated the centenary of the Willa & Burke Expedition in Australia by holding several events. The Romany Cinema's contribution was to show a film with an Australian theme called "The Sundowners" at which the Mayor, Mrs Gray, was present. The usherettes were dressed in appropriate uniforms and the photograph shows Jean Bindon (chief usherette) presenting a bouquet to Mrs Gray. Behind L2R Grenville White, Kelvin White and Mr Gray.
