Coronation Road 1937

Building of Coronation Road 1936-7, outside the Harris Bacon Factory. Harrisons Garage on left. Old warehouses to back on centre. Originally known as the Northerly By-Pass Road and opened 29.04.1937. When the Coronation procession returned from Bridgetown via this road, the Mayor, Captain Holdsworth, was asked to name it "Coronation Road". (From TT town council reports) DP BOX 01
