Staff working at the Edge Tool Manufactory (run by Messrs Knapman & Son) of Hill Mills, Harbertonford 1903-5. Back L2R, George Rendle (seated on grindstone), Nicholas Heath, William Nicholls, Frank Slocombe. Front L2R. Sydney Crocker, John Denley, Jack Kerswell, William Boyes, Richard Rendell, W.Langdon. 1850s Directory states it was a large shovel and reaping hook manufactory called Hill Mill. These photographs the property of Stanley Finch of Harbertonford, son of A.R.Finch who is mentioned on most of the photographs. He was a council foreman and later ran the Red Lion Inn with his wife Ruby Finch (Rhoda). ***
