Steps Cottage /B1/E85

Steps Cottage opposite the Kingsbridge Inn, Leechwell Street, believed to be the old look-out tower. The part of this building adjoining the road is not a cottage at all, the cottage lies behind. Its walls enclose only flights of stone steps which after four or five rectangular bends reach a small chamber at the top of the building. In this there is a window from which, were the trees cut down, a watch might be kept over two or three miles of the river. B1/E85
