Plains procession 1910 / B1/E81

Civic procession for the Proclamation of the Accession of King George V 1910. No's 1-4 the Plains, previously site of Lower Almshouses founded by John Norris in 1589 and taken down in 1830 being in ruinous condition and rebuilt in the Grove. In 1836 Mr Henry Webber, a carpenter, was granted lease of a piece of land near the Plains, being the sit of the old almshouses and he built the four houses. B1/E81
