Haarer's in Castle Hotel

Haarers Cruiser Cabin, Castle Hotel, Totnes. Devon Commercial ??? Plymouth. The Cruiser Cabin - entirely laid out with old ships fittings by the proprietor J.F.Haarer. The seats were originally in the "Mauretania" , the Binnacle and the Compass came from the french freighter "Louise Yvonne" which went down off Start Point. The Steering Wheel (table) was taken from the "Kitley Belle" which formerly ran between Steer Point and Newton Moss. The Portholes contained miniature models of old ships and were artificially lighted. The Ships Bell always struck "Four Bells" (Extension "Five Bells" during Summer months).
