Rescued WW2 tank at Torcross/Slapton. During the early 1970s a local man, Ken Small, discovered an American Sherman tank lying on the sea bed which had been lost during Exercise Tiger on 28.04.1944 on Slapton Sands. The tank was raised before the 40th anniversary of D-Day. Tank placed in position 1984.
