Minesweeper No.1078 1940s

Wooden Minesweeper No 1078 at Mill Tail. 1078 - hull was prepared at Par, Cornwall and fitted out at Totnes as Par had no facilities for fitting out. Team building wooden minesweepers in the 1940s. Work started in 1940 at Totnes. 23 minesweepers built and fitted out at Totnes, all of them wooden. 16 x 105ft type. 7 x 125ft type. Also 400 x 64ft wooden bages erected from fabricated parts during 1945 and 902 steel "Braithwaite" cells used in construction of pontoons.
