FRANCIS FRITH (1906) Granny Eames with a large key hanging at her side. This photo went all over the world. John & Mary Eames of the Guildhall Cottage, daughter Fanny married Robert Binmore who also became caretaker of the Guildhall and St Marys church. In 1885 the sextons cottage was let to Mr Eames for £4 per year plus the obligation to ring the 6am and 8om curfew bell and market bell. John Eames died November 1902, age 75 - 28 years as sexton.
