The Chateau Bellevue (Totnes)Ltd, Newton Road. this was once a private home built in the style of a French Chateau approx. 100 years ago and previously named Bourton Hall. Fanmous for its magnificent fireplaces & painted ceilings. A family run hotel noted for excellent cuisine and hospitality. It boasted heated swimming pool, colour TVs, 2 bars, late residents bar, restaurant, late supper licence and open throughout the year (Guide book 1977)
