Totnes New Infirmary 1909
Now partly demolished and replaced by local authority flats. This was Broomborough Hospital, date 1909. The workhouse, Plymouth Road, built of stone 1838/9 cost £6000 and held 382 inmates. In 1907 the Totnes Workhouse Master was Mr W.Beer with 197 inmates. The workhouse infirmary, erected at a cost of £9000 opened March 1909, build of red brick and portland stone.
