Minesweeper 1943

Minesweeper J672, later renumbered as 172, passing Longmarsh on the River Dart, 1943. Work started in 1940 at Totnes. 23 minesweepers built and fitted out at Totnes, all of them wooden. 16 x 105ft type. 7 x 125ft type. Also 400 x 64ft wooden barges erected from fabricated parts during 1945 and 902 steel "Braithwaite" cells used in construction of pontoons.
