South Street 2005

Water conduit at South Street. The water tap affixed to the wall in lower South Street, opposite the end of Leechwell Lane in what, in medieval times, had been the moat. Another could be found in Upper South Street on top of the old south wall. (Now removed but you can still see the triangular shaped ground where it used to be). The two were connected by a stone staircase from lower to upper South Street. Lawrence Eastwell discs 1,2,3, & 4 in DP BOX 14
