Plaster ceiling at Bogan House 1979. Bogan House, 43 High Street - Grade l listed , C14 or early C15 two storey merchants house. Best preserved late medieval house in Totnes. 1st floor front room with plaster ceiling inscribed E.B. and W.B.A referring to Elizabeth and William Bogan, Mayor of Totnes 1580. Seen working here Jack Lightdown. He restored several of the old plaster ceilings in Totnes.
