V.E.Day Party 1945

V.E.Day Party - May 1945 at Mount Pleasant. About 65 children from Cistern Street and Leechwell Street had tea on the lawn of Mount Pleasant organised by Mrs .White and Mrs F.Phillips. Many residents made cakes and jellies or provided ingredients and Messrs Tarrings bakers worked especially hard. Sports & games were held on the lawn and prizes distributed by L/Cpl Elcombe, released POW, whose family reside in Leechwell Street. He also took photographs of this event.
