Warlands c1900

Selection of glass plates from Bruce Church. See BC 0046, 0047, 0049 . Apples on ground of orchard behind Warlands. Sacks hanging on line. Collecting the grass-fruit, after the apples are gathered from the orchards they are laid on the floor ans graded. After they have dropped (early Aug) the first fall are collected in heaps and put into sacks. The cider from the first pressing is not considered so good quality as that which follows the more advanced state of the fruit. The later fall are better and spread over a considerable space on the grass where they are allowed to remain to the sun and air until the approach of frost when they are all carried to the pound house. (Fruit knocked from trees with poles)
