Mrs Jean Gilbert, Mayor,Deputy Mayor Mr Foster Turner, Mrs Bernice Gray. Mr Reynolds, mace bearer. In the Guildhall. The Guildhall remained a Magistrate's court until 27 August 1974. It is still used for regular Town Council meetings and other ceremonies such as Mayor Choosing.
