Widecombe Church 1950

St Pancras Church, Widecombe, 1950 At the time of the Reformation the altar was hidden in the floor of the church, concealed to blend in with the flagstone's. In 1966 the altar, restored to its former glory, was rededicated by the Bishop of Exeter, Dr Mortimer. This restoration was made possible by £500 donation from Miss Mary Hamlyn of Dunstone Court, Widdecombe.
