Grammar School 1947

Five Courts in 1947, in the Mansion (Grammar School) grounds. "Fives" was introduced in 1913, the origins are not known but it is thought possibly from "bunch of fives." Smaller courts were later converted to a rock climbing wall and this was opened in November 1984 by John Barry an ex pupil.
