Leusdon School, before c.1905

The original caption for this image said: 'Leusdon School group. Pre-dates one earlier in file. Same headmaster.' From this, we know that the headteacher was Joshua Bancroft, who arrived at Leusdon in 1888 and worked at the school for 33 years, before retiring in July 1921. He is also shown with the girls of the school, including his eldest daughter Winifred, in image DRA 6111. DRA 6437 PW 135
